The City of
Port Wentworth has a combination Fire Department consisting of
two (2) paid personnel and ten (10) volunteers. Currently,
our stations are manned during the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,
Monday through Friday. Volunteers devote their time to
answer calls after hours.
We have two (2)
fire stations. The headquarters is located at 317 Cantyre
Street. This consists of the main operation offices along
with a three-bay station. This station houses an E-One
class A Pumper, a heavy-duty rescue unit, and a first responder
unit.
Station Two is
also a three-bay station and is located at 6721 Highway 21,
which is one mile east of Interstate 95. This station
houses a Bean class A Pumper, a Ford brush truck, and a tanker
that contains over 5,800 gallons of water.
We are planning
for the future and are actively seeking volunteers who are
willing to devote their time and energy into the preservation of
their community.
This department
meets at Headquarters every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. We
also meet one (1) Saturday each month for training to allow
those with a conflicting work schedule to attend.
If you need to
contact this department for any non-emergency, you may call us
at (912) 966-7425. A voice mail system is in place in the
event we are not in the station at the time of your call.
Please contact us if we may be of service. Thank you for
allowing us to serve you.
