The Public Works
Department encompasses our water & sewer, sanitation, and
streets & roads services.
Water &
Sewer - The City of Port Wentworth provides water and
sewer services to a great majority of its residents and
businesses.
An application for
water and sewer service can be obtained online or can be picked
up from City Hall at 305 South Coastal Highway Monday through
Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Once application is completed, return
form to the Water Department at City Hall and pay your deposit
to begin your service.
For residential
customers, the water/sewer deposit is $100. Commercial customers
will need to call 964-4379, ext. 105 to obtain your deposit
amounts.
Sanitation
– The City of Port Wentworth provides sanitation services to all
its residents and businesses. Household garbage should be placed
in the green roll-out carts provided by the City. Household
garbage is picked up twice a week. Your pick-up days are
determined by where you live in the City. “Roadside” or “Dry
Trash” is also picked up twice a week. See table below. Dry
Trash does not go inside the green cart. It is placed by the
street for pick-up. Large loads or appliances may require an
additional charge. This charge will be billed to you separately.
Paint and oil products should not be placed in the green cart.

sanitation. Commercial customers

amounts.
